Cross-contamination was enough to decide that I wasn't going to finish my frozen meal, and my friends and I ended up throwing our things out and leaving. I also noticed that not once did he wash his hands. I noticed an employee who would keep the same gloves on when handling everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. I work part-time in a kitchen in between my classes, and so I started observing what was going on as the rest of my friends ate. However, once my friends and I received our food, we discovered that half of it wasn't even cooked all the way through. A few things grossed me out a bit, such as noticing a particular cook who had spilled something and not cleaned up after himself, but it wasn't immediately a turn off for me. The railway itself was fine, however I would not recommend the price tag for the food service we received there. I am shocked this man is still in the kitchen cooking, and hope something gets done with him soon so more people don't have the same experience we did.Ībout a month back during February, a few friends and I were on a trip north to ski, and we decided to stop at the Cog Railway on the trip up, among other sites, before hitting the slopes. Before writing this review, i noticed two other posts about this same cook. We just threw our tray away, said goodbye to the nice gentleman at the register, and left. That was cut short however, because one of my friends bit into her sandwich, and it was still cold in the center. I went to my table with my group and said they can have my food because I refused to eat my meal. He sat back down like nothing even happened. He went to blow his nose, and after he was done, he didn't even wash his hands. While I was grabbing my sauces, I noticed the man walking away, and as he we walking from one end of the kitchen to the other, he sneezed into the open air, not covering his mouth or nose. As we were walking away, i went back to grab some condiments. we grabbed a tray and went to go sit down. I did not feel comfortable eating, but we all agreed to just try it. It wouldn't have been so bad if he was just touching the food, but he was also touching all sorts of other things like pots, grabbing dirty dishes, papers, and other items. We also noticed that throughout the whole process, he didn't change his gloves once. On top of that, he also looked like he hadn't shaved in weeks. He did not look clean at all, and didn't even wash his hands, (however, he did put on some gloves). While we were waiting, I got a good look at the cook. Then we stood at the counter and waited for our meals. We placed our order with the cook, and went to go pay. Now this is where things started to roll downhill. He guided us to the order counter, and went to get the cook for that day. "It's more of a grab and go convenient store style" he said. After talking with the gentleman at the register, we were a little disappointed to find out it wasn't an actual restaurant. We decided that marshmallows and coffee wasn't enough to satisfy our hunger, so we decided to get some food there. Not a bad trip, however I cannot say the same with the food. Sitting around the fire, roasting marshmallows and what not. We had a lot of fun at the station they have up there. Nothing too special if I'm honest but well worth it. We went to a few different places while we were up there. A couple of friends and I decided to travel up north for the weekend to get away from the city.
